Bernardo Torres Santiago, 66, of North Plainfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2026.
Family and friends are welcome for a memorial visitation on Saturday, April 25th from 3-7pm in Scarpa Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place North Plainfield, NJ 07060.
Born on November 11, 1959, in Cidra, Puerto Rico, Bernardo was the beloved son of Mr. Torres and Maria Santiago. He carried with him a deep connection to his roots and a strong sense of family throughout his life.
Bernardo was in the US army as a Sergeant Army tanker in the Iraq War. He received an honorable discharge. Bernardo liked to collect cars, draw and paint and go for long walks in the park.
Bernardo will be remembered for his warmth, resilience, and the love he shared with those closest to him. He was a devoted father who took pride in his children and the lives they are building. He also found companionship and care in his loving girlfriend and devoted caretaker, Renee Irvin, who stood by his side with unwavering support.
He leaves behind his cherished children, Renee Irvin, and many family members and friends who will deeply miss his presence, his spirit, and the memories they shared together.
A life lived with quiet strength and enduring love, Bernardo’s legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew him.
