Neville C Smith

Neville Christopher Smith, 86, of North Plainfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on April 6, 2026.

Born on May 13, 1939, in Georgetown, Guyana, Neville was the beloved son of the late Harry and Ena Smith.

Neville was the devoted husband of 52 years to his beloved wife, Hazel Smith (née Mansell). Their love story began in Guyana, where they first met at Hazel’s sister’s wedding—an encounter that would blossom into a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories. Together, they shared a deep love for dancing and built a beautiful life side by side.

He was a cherished and loving father to Ryan Smith, Reanna Smith, and Marcelyn Smith. Neville took great pride in his family and the life they created together. He was also a proud grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of four, leaving behind a legacy rooted in love, strength, and togetherness.

Neville will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his warm spirit, and the joy he found in life’s simple moments—especially those spent surrounded by the people he loved most.

His legacy lives on through the generations of family he nurtured and the memories they will carry forward.
