Nicholas J. Chillemi Sr.

Nicholas J. Chillemi, Sr., 73, of South Plainfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Friday, June 12th from 2-4 & 7-9pm in Scarpa Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place North Plainfield, NJ 07060. 

Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 13th from 8:30am -9:30am in the funeral home followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial in Church of the Sacred Heart, 149 S. Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.

Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ. 

Born on December 24, 1952, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Nicholas was the beloved son of John Chillemi Sr. and Rosalie P. Chillemi. A lifelong New Jersey resident, he built a life centered on hard work, family, and dedication to his craft.

Nicholas spent much of his working life as a Union Painter. He was known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to providing for his family. Through years of honest labor and dedication, he earned the respect and friendship of many colleagues, friends, and neighbors.

Family was the cornerstone of Nicholas's life. He shared a loving marriage with his devoted wife, Margaret Ann Chillemi, and took great pride in the family they built together. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, guidance, and steady presence touched the lives of many.

Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Ann Chillemi; his children, Nicholas Chillemi Jr., Rosalie Chillemi, and Justine Chillemi; his brother, Frank Chillemi, sister, Paula Chillemi; his granddaughter, Marisa Chillemi; his grandsons, Nicholas Sosa, Hunter Jones, Dominic Jones, and Ashton Jones; and his granddaughter-in-law, Jasmine Sosa. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory and miss him dearly.

Nicholas will be remembered for his hardworking nature, unwavering devotion to his family, and the strength and integrity with which he lived his life. His legacy of love, dedication, and perseverance will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
