Rose Marie Antoinette DelVecchio, age 82, passed from this life to eternal life on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born on June 13, 1943, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Rose Marie spent most of her childhood and adult life in North Plainfield, New Jersey, where she peacefully passed in her beloved childhood home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmine and Philomena Guarino, her deceased husband, Raymond DelVecchio, and Cora Del Vecchio (sister-in-law). Rose Marie is survived by her five children: Justina Kwapy, Raymond DelVecchio Jr., Christopher DelVecchio, Darryl DelVecchio, and Justin DelVecchio; and her treasured grandchildren: Nicholas Kwapy, Amber Kwapy, and Alyssa Kwapy, her brother John Guarino his wife, Annette Guarino, and Charles Del Vecchio, brother-in-law.
Before dedicating herself to raising her family, Rose Marie enjoyed a career as a talented hair stylist. She valued her role as a homemaker and mother above all, embracing it with love and devotion. A woman of deep faith, Rose Marie found joy in attending church and watching EWTN. She was also known for her incredible cooking, delighting her family with her favorite Italian dishes. Her love for the color purple and anything shiny and beautiful reflected her vibrant spirit.
Visitation will be held at Scarpa Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place North Plainfield, NJ on Sunday, January 11th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday, January12th, at 9:30am, followed by her final resting place at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ.
Rose Marie will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Her legacy of faith, family, and warmth will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
