Serafina "Sophie" Pisani

Serafina “Sophie” Pisani, affectionately known to all as “Zizi,” passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years old and a lifelong resident of North Plainfield, New Jersey.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Wednesday, January 28th from 4-8pm in Scarpa Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place North Plainfield, NJ 07060.

Funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, 8:30am in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Plainfield.

Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains where she will join her beloved husband Michael Pisani, Sr. 

Sophie was born on April 17, 1934, in Molfetta, Italy, to Cosimo Parisi and Apollonia Pica. She later made her home in North Plainfield, where she built a life rooted in love, family, and deep community ties.

She was the devoted wife of Michael Pisani, Sr., who predeceased her in 2005. Together they shared a beautiful life and a love of traveling, creating treasured memories with their family.

Sophie was a cherished and devoted mother to Michael Pisani, Jr. and Pam and Cosmo Pisani, both of North Plainfield. Family was everything to Sophie, and she took immense pride in caring for and supporting those she loved. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews including Nancy and all of whom held a special place in her heart. 

Known for her warmth and affection, Sophie was lovingly called “Zizi” by everyone who knew her. She had a lifelong love for the New York Mets and could always be counted on to cheer them on with enthusiasm.

Sophie will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her gentle spirit, and the love she shared so freely. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
