Umberto Carotenuto

North Plainfield - Umberto Carotenuto, 81, died Thursday, January 27th, 2022 at home with his family at his side. Umberto was born and raised in Scafati, Italy before moving to North Plainfield in 1967. Umberto was a retired tailor working for Archie Jacobson men's clothing in Piscataway. Umberto loved making wine and espresso and kept himself fit by walking daily. His passion was soccer, always rooting for the Italian Napoli Team.

Umberto was pre-deceased by his wife Rose Carotenuto in 1996. Surviving are his 3-sons, Pasquale of North Plainfield, Anthony and his wife Danielle of North Plainfield, and John and his wife Nicole Carotenuto of Green Brook. Also surviving is his sister Tina and her husband Michael Ciccarella of Edison, and 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Rosa, Rosalia, Anthony Umberto, and Pio.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8pm at the Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place in North Plainfield, followed by a 10:00 AM mass at St. Joseph RC Church in North Plainfield. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, located in Scotch Plains, NJ.
