Francis Robbins

Francis Robbins 80, died with his loving family at his side on February 7, 2022.  Francis was born in Altoon Pennsylvania before moving to New Jersey where he resided in North Plainfield for the last 44 years.  Francis served proudly in the US Navy for 26 years and retired as Senior Master Chief.  Francis traveled extensively as an Electrical Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Corp. before being employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Mechanical Engineer.  Francis was an undiscovered inventor, creator, and jack of all trades with an expertise for carpentry and plumbing, as well as speaking five languages.

Francis was predeceased by his parents William and Margaret Robbins and brothers Joseph, James, William and Lawrence Robbins.  Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years Shirley Robbins (Graziano), son Douglas Robbins and wife Jill, daughters Lisa Nice and Danielle Gorman-Robbins and wife Kerry.  Also surviving are two sisters Joan Taylor and Margaret Clawson and seven grandchildren, Cassondra, Tristan, Christopher Jr., Lawrence, Hannah, Christopher III and Jacob, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday February 10 from 5:00pm – 9:00pm and Friday morning from 9:00am – 10:00am at Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place, North Plainfield.  Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum in Basking Ridge.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Francis’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Heart Association. www.scarpalasrosasfh.com
